Helen Adams Realty Gives Back by Keeping Charlotte Beautiful

Helen Adams Realty is a proud partner of the local Adopt-a-City Street program, Keep Charlotte Beautiful.

 

Since partnering with Keep Charlotte Beautiful, Helen Adams Realty has adopted two one-mile stretches of roadway adjacent to two of the firm’s office locations on Randolph Road in Elizabeth and in Ballantyne, respectively.

 

Agents, staff, family, and friends gather six times a year to clean the adopted streets around both offices. Volunteers in neon yellow vests can be found on Saturday mornings picking up trash, cleaning litter, and helping to keep Charlotte beautiful!

 

“I love this city and my community - it's one of the reasons I became a REALTOR,” says Jim Thompson, Helen Adams Realty agent at the Ballantyne office. “So it's only natural that one of the ways I can serve is to participate in the Adopt-a-Street cleanups. It's a great opportunity to show some love and care for the place we live and work.”

 

The purpose of the Adopt-a-City Street Program, according to their website, is to tangibly demonstrate civic pride in your community, contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment, contribute to our overall economic development, and to serve as an impressive reminder to the public not to litter the roadways or ignore our environment.

 

“We enjoy spending time together and cleaning up the streets of Charlotte,” explains Cara Shields, Broker-in-Charge at the Randolph Road office. “Our agents get to catch up with one another on an early Saturday morning and we love giving back to the neighborhood that gives so much to us.”

 

Helen Adams, a sixth generation Charlottean, founded her residential real estate firm in Charlotte in 1975. The company is now operated by her son, Jeff, and three grandchildren. As a locally owned and operated company for 44 years, it is important for Helen Adams Realty to give back to the community that it services.

 

“With our strong roots and history in Charlotte, getting involved with Keep Charlotte Beautiful was a natural fit for our family’s firm,” says Rebecca Adams Starrs, who heads the cleanup program. “We love having another outlet for giving back to this amazing community.”
