‘Tis the season to hunt for the perfect pumpkin! A visit to the pumpkin patch is a popular tradition once the leaves start changing and the temperatures start dropping. Next time you’re planning a trip to the pumpkin patch for fall activities and pumpkin picking, consider this list of farms around the Carolinas.

 

Hodges Farm Pumpkin Patch

Hodges Family Farm, the self-proclaimed longest running farm in Charlotte, offers an annual pumpkin patch opening the last weekend of September and runs through October 31. Activities include self-guided tours, hayrides, and plenty of space for picnics! Popular for field trips and family traditions, Hodges Family Farm has been serving Mecklenburg County and its surrounding areas for over 100 years.

 

Anne Springs Close Greenway’s Fall Frolic

Celebrate the last three weekends in October at Anne Springs Close Greenway. The Fall Frolic festival returns to the greenway in its tenth year for wagon rides, hay bale mazes, farm animals, horse rides, pumpkin patches, and so much more! Lazy 5 Ranch

The Lazy 5 Ranch kicks off the fall season with their Fall Festival starting on October 5. Throughout the month of October, guests are able to enjoy marshmallow roasting, pumpkin decorating, kettle corn, and pumpkin patches. The Hunter Farm

Patterson Farm

Patterson Farm, in Mount Ulla, is a quick trip from Charlotte to kick off the fall season. This year, Patterson Farm is celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the classic “The Wizard of Oz” with trips down their Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City with on-theme decorations. Aw Shucks! Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

You won’t want to miss the marketplace at Aw Shucks Farms featuring seasonal produce, local products, pumpkins, gourds, Indian Corn, and much more. The farm also hosts a general store, kids play area, and animal barn. You’ll feel like you stepped into a time machine while visiting their Soda Shop and 1800’s Train Car.
